Misbah Al Droubi,
Chairman of BUIC Capital Management
Misbah Al Droubi was born in Damascus on October 9th, 1959 from Syrian parents. During his life he had the chance to live and study in different countries spanning the globe, and, due to his education and work experience, he developed various projects in many countries. He is fluent in four languages: French, Spanish, English, and Arabic, and is currently studying Russian.
He received his primary and secondary education in different countries, and his higher education was rather diverse: Political Science at "Science-Po" in Paris Saint Guillaume between1977-1980 and then Architecture at Damascus University in Damascus.
He commenced his professional life in the architecture and construction field between 1982 and 1992, he created "L'atelier d'amenagement de l'espace" developing tourist, residential and office building projects in Syria.
In 1990, he created a company with an English partner that started as a private jet broker. The company later became involved in commercial aviation, an,d in 1992, the company became the KLM agent in the Middle East for Engineering and Maintenance.
Following the sickness of his mother that left her totally handicapped in 1997, he created a 2000 sq.m. Medical Rehabilitation Center in Egypt. The center was later registered in the stock exchange, whereby he sold 40% of his shares to financial institutions.
In 2002, he joined Hares Group as CEO of the Group, an investment and real estate development firm with affiliated companies in Austria, Russia, Ukraine, Cyprus and Bulgaria, where he remained until creation of BUIC Capital Management. As CEO of Hares Group, Misbah was instrumental in the acquisition of the Moldovan Metallurgical Factory (MMZ) in 2004, the restructuring and sale of the oil and gas exploration company Rudis in 2005, and the creation of the Joint Venture Sargia in 2007.
He is especially fond of modern art, and owns a private art collection which now contains more than one hundred twenty works: paintings, photography and sculptures.
Andriy M. Khraban, General Director of BUIC Capital Management
Andriy was born in Kiev, Ukraine, on October 28, 1976. He studied for 4 years at the Ph.D. Program in Operations and Information Management at the University of Connecticut School of Business (Storrs, CT) specializing in e-commerce, MIS, operations management, and operations research. Andriy holds a M.A. in Economics and a M.A. in Financial Management from the Catholic University of America (Washington, DC), and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Kyiv, Ukraine).
Andriy's early business career consisted of consulting work, primarily in restructuring of the Ukrainian energy market. He worked as a Director for Optimal Business Solutions Consulting Group, which consulted Ukrainian companies on business process optimization, finance, strategic management, and MIS issues.
In 2004, Andriy ran Mnemosoft Ukraine LLC, which he built from scratch to become one of the leaders in Ukraine's internet market. Mnemosoft employs a staff of more than 80 people and operates 8 major business and entertainment media portals serving a wide variety of customers. Andriy was responsible for strategic management and planning, marketing, budgeting, new product development, employee motivation, investor relations, quality control, international relations, as well as day-to-day operations.
Beginning in early 2006, Andriy served as the General Director at "Domini Capital Management" Asset Management Company (renamed into Tiger Asset Management in March 2008). There, Andriy was responsible for daily operations, strategic planning, corporate finance, and international relations.
Andriy joined BUIC Capital Management in March 2008.
In addition to his business activities, Andriy has authored several research publications in European and Ukrainian academic journals. His research interests are in e-commerce, finance, operations research, and MIS. Andriy holds adjunct professor positions at the International Institute of Business (Kyiv, Ukraine) and at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Kyiv, Ukraine) in MIS, Corporate Finance, and Operations Management.
Benjamin Hill,
Chief Financial Officer of BUIC Capital Management
Benjamin was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on June 30th, 1976. He has had the chance to live, work, and visit in many countries. Benjamin is fluent in English and Russian, with hopes of learning Ukrainian in the not too distant future.
Benjamin was raised and received his primary and secondary education in Corpus Christi, Texas. He began his higher education at the University of Texas – Austin in their Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering, one of the United States' top ranked programs. Benjamin left the University of Texas in 1996 and moved to Ukraine.
Benjamin began his professional career with the U.S. Department of State at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev. He served the U.S. as a Consular Assistant for seven years and left the Consular Section as the Administrator of their Public Liaison Unit and the recipient of three Meritorious Honor Awards for Service in the Department of State.
Benjamin returned to Texas in 2003 and resumed his studies at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. He majored in Accounting and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in August 2005 and received his Master of Accountancy Degree in August 2006.
During and after his studies, Benjamin worked on several projects in the South Texas area. He was the office manager for a medical supplies e-commerce company and simultaneously handled the accounting functions for three other companies. Additionally, Benjamin served one year in public accounting as an auditor and had the opportunity to work temporarily in Mexico as an internal auditor/business consultant for Robert Half International.
In 2007, he joined Hares Group as CFO of the Group. In February 2008, Benjamin began working with Misbah to help create BUIC Capital Management.
He enjoys spending time with his family and is fond of sports, computer technology, card games, and fishing.
